I like to cut these in half to make them easier to use in the humidifier. The ones I buy in the store have heavy wire in them, making them difficult to cut. These are softer and easier to cut, and easier to flip during refill. They last about a month, which is perfect.

I was hoping that there would be that metal ribbon on the top and bottom to keep them from stretching and sagging. It makes it difficult to replace the top of the machine correctly, without bending or smashing down the filter. Please put something around the top and bottom to fix that problem. Other than that I am pleased with the filter. I live with air pollution so in addition to keeping the air humidified (especially for my piano), it helps keep it cleaner. I can tell that by the brown color at the top and bottom of the filter.

HAC-504 was ordered, what was sent was a HW500AMNM. the HAC-504 has a green pre-filter, the filter sent was just plain filter.
