The product works great and the price is fantastic! The only problem with this filter is the ease of installation. The filter is very difficult to put in place and I feel that if I continue to use these, the housing (that is part of the refrigerator) is going to break...You have to push very hard and turn at the same time to get the filter into place and, because of the location, it is very hard to get it installed properly without putting the housing at risk. The other brand I used to buy, went in much easier.

Cheaper then big box stores for OEM frig filter, if you shop around you can find cheaper. Had used similar in previous frig, will see how they work for present frig. Frig is on it's own timer/ or cycle so it flashes when it's time to replace usually twice a year.

The filters do work in our fridge, but it takes multiple attempts to get the water flowing properly through them. It’s not user error, but more like the filter is just configured slightly different than the main name-brand filter. Had to throw away a brand new filter because we were unable to get it to work. Only able to use the second of the two filters we purchased. Spent 45 minutes getting it to work. Shouldn’t be that hard.

These replacement filters are a good value. I've been using them for at least three years and have not had an issue with them. I replace them when the light come on our 'fridge telling us its time. I would guess that we replace every nine months or so. Sometimes they need a strong twist to install, but other than that, no complaints.

Not sure what's wrong with these? I installed and it has cut the water pressure on my in door water dispenser by 2/3rds. Take about 1-2 mins to fill up and 8 oz. water glass???? Water is clean, but very low trickle. I've tried uninstalling and re installing and within a could of glasses of water back to a trickle again

We have been ordering fridge filters from DiscountFilters.com for a few years now. We are content with the service and pricing. We've only experienced one problem with delivery,1year ago... the package was delivered damaged. I notified DiscountFilter thru email. They replied w/a lil attitude(like I did it). Decided to try out the generic instead of the $50 filter. It appears to be working but was slightly smaller than my previous one. Previous one wedged in perfectly in the refrigerator. This one screwed in and was a little short so had to press the door closed to hold it in place. It seems to be doing the job although made me nervous at first given different size to OEM.

The low price is what led me to order this filter. It arrived on time and was easily tracked. It was packaged and sealed well. The issue the I had was the way it fit. When installing it I noticed that it was not as thight a fit as the OEM filter and once installed it leaked slightly. I had to uninstall / reinstall and turn it 180 degrees several times before it finally stopped leaking. I had to clean up the water and was leary that it might start leaking again so I kept two bowls under it while I kept an eye on it for several days. Installed about a week and a half now, but not happy of it’s fitment being loose and that it could possibly flood or ruin the food because it mounts at the inside top right of the refrigerator compartment.

How to install

How To Install The UKF8001 Filter:

Remove old filter cartridge by grasping and gently turning counterclockwise until it releases from the filter head
Insert new filter into filter head and rotate clockwise until the filter stops. Close the filter cover
Run water continuously through dispenser for 4 gallons (approximately 5 minutes) until water runs steady and sputtering stops. NOTE: during initial use allow about a 1-2 minute delay in water dispersal to allow internal water tank to fill
Reset water filter change notification by following instructions in owners manual
