Our MERV 8 dust filter does a good job of catching most dust particles and helps our furnace and AC system be more efficient due to the volume of air that can pass through a MERV 8 filter. We have a lot of tile and wood floors which allows more dust to be airborne. We have had a Reme Halo LED air purification system installed above the blower in our Furnace/AC system. That apparatus helps clump the very small dust particles (among other things) so the filter has been more efficient in trapping them. Because of that I find that I need to replace the filter after about 3 weeks. Your price for the well built, American made filter is very economical so I don't feel that changing it often is any sort of burden...especially since it does what it's supposed to do.
